Description

The Airspeed Horsa was a British built, troop and equipment carrying glider. The idea of using gliders to insert troops into enemy territory first came about as a result of a lack of transport aircraft. It was also decided to build the Horsa using mainly wood to conserve precious building materials such as aluminium. It was originally thought that a towing aircraft (also carrying paratroopers) would tow the Horsa to the target area, drop off the troops and tow the gliders back. This idea evolved into the gliders actually landing. This enabled them to carry vehicles, equipment and artillery. The Horsa was used in some major offences including the D-Day Landings, Operation Market Garden and Operation Varsity

This stylish piece of wall art is precision laser cut from 2mm steel and powder coated to a satin black finish. This provides a durable rust resistant finish so it can be displayed indoors or out. The piece stands away from the wall by 16mm giving an elegant 3D look which casts a silhouette on the wall. Mounting instructions and wall fixings are supplied.

The wall art comes in 3 different sizes, is made to order for you in the UK, and you can expect the product to be dispatched within 14 days, plus postage time. We also ship to most destinations.
